As citizens of Mapleton Utah, we have the right to do a demonstration march. In the Constitution of the United States it says all American citizens have the right to gather and demonstrate so we will demonstrate! This will not go unnoticed. We can succeed! Martin Luther King demonstrated and if he can, we can!! And today we will do our march and this will not take us back to square one because we can save the hole! ABOUT A HOLE OR FREEDOM, IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE!!!

They surrounded Eric's car when he pulled in home from work and chanted Save the Hole! Save the Hole! First he tried proposing to move the hole to the other neighbors, but they booed that. Then he suggested letting them keep it for a month then filling it in, which they booed and then attacked, beating him with their signs. Here is a picture of him going down:
