Dave and Dad found a caterpillar and brought it home to observe. It cooperated beautifully and built a chrysalis in a pint jar, then emerged as a gorgeous Morning Cloak butterfly.
I got busy painting the basement in an attempt to make it a warmer, more comfortable and more inviting area of the house.
These are the stairs down to the basement. The paint job seemed to work, the kids immediately moved down to sleep for the summer.
I painted the entry as well.
