My Weekend Job, first day of school

On Saturday, I worked my first paid job I've had in quite sometime!

Last Sunday, my neighbor asked a group of men at church for volunteers to help him scale a 50-ft tower and dismantle some equipment he had there.  Clay went running up to him immediately and said his mom would love to do it.  The neighbor laughed, and thinking he was joking, told Eric what Clay had said.  Eric confirmed that indeed, that was right up my alley.  So that evening he came over to hear it from my own mouth, was I seriously interested?  Oh Yeah!

So here are a couple of photos that Eric took from the ground (his job was to untie the equipment when we lowered it down to him, and to drive the truck up and back over the 4wheel drive road).

checking out the tower, getting last minute instructions

 scaling the tower

crossing from the climbing pegs to the equipment

settled in for the dismantling part of the job

After getting a part off the tower, we would lower them on a rope down to Eric.

crossing to the other side of the tower again

 descending, job well done

Here are some photos from the last couple weeks.  Dash got neutered and had to wear the cone of shame for a couple days, poor guy.  He was very excited when we took it off!

Dave (5th grade), Dan (2nd grade), and Brett (whose family lived with us for a couple weeks)
The kids are taking advantage of Dash's growing size and strength.  This actually kind of worked!
Clay wanted a picture of him looking heroic!
