Our host family took us to a cool lotus pond and cafe. They served all things lotus, like lotus tea, lotus ice cream, lotus seed with rice wrapped in lotus leaf, etc. All kinds of cool things. The pond was gorgeous, then it rained a downpour and everything was a whole new kind of gorgeous. Lotus flowers also have what is called a King Leaf as part of their colony of leaves and flowers, which can carry up to like 100 kilo or so. Dan got to go for a ride on one. They just put a plastic dish inside the leaf so you don't get wet. Other than that, it is for real just a leaf, carrying the weight of a person! Wow.
