Natural Bridges

The descent to Sipapu Bridge. Fun hike. It's amazing how much different it feels to go under the bridge than to see it from above. The road is up above the bridges that were formed over a river gorge. I liked the massiveness of it.
The hike from bridge to bridge keeps you down in the cooler green stream bed. The stream is mostly dry, with just patches of stagnant water.
Horse collar ruins. It was fun to scramble up the rock to these and be able to walk right up to them and peer in them and contemplate their origins.
This is cryptobiotic soil, or hidden life. Apparently it takes a very long time to grow, and this area is all made up of it. You have to stay on the trail because one careless footfall destroys a 100 years work for the little guys.
